The media campaign features Kim Posnien because of his years of construction and building work in Douglas County as well as his community service. Builder's Success Story

Kim Posnien realized his interest and proficiency in woodworking and mechanical projects at an early age while growing up in Northern Nevada.

• Kim was eager and energetic at 17 and had an overwhelming desire to work. He moved up from bag boy, stocker, and checker at Eagle Thrifty Market in Gardnerville.
• Kim then worked as Production Scheduler for Bently of Nevada, a manufacturer of precision machinery.
• Kim then put his woodworking skills to the test by building houses for Mike Hickey, an established builder, where he learned the building trades for the next 23 years. He became accomplished at the following:
  • Reading house plans
  • Framing buildings
  • Being in charge of Finish carpentry
  • Scheduling production
  • Overseeing materials, labor, and sub-contracting to complete a house project

Kim Posnien Construction and Development Company was conceived and founded in the early 1990s. The first few projects consisted of custom homes and commercial buildings. The community quickly became aware of Kim’s ability and desire to strive for perfection. His attention to detail, inclusion of upscale amenities, and hands-on control of the entire home building process resulted in a final product of which he could be proud.

Kim married his high school sweetheart, Debbie, and they have two grown daughters and two grandchildren who all live in the Reno and Carson Valley area.
